There are many grades of limestone, and durability varies widely. Choosing a supplier that consistently sources the hardest, most durable material is essential. All Surface Shop limestones are Class 3, the highest durability classification available.
Yes, Limestone Floors should be sealed with a high quality penetrating sealer for maximum protection and longevity.
Limestone floor tiles are installed using standard natural stone installation methods. The substrate must be clean, level, and properly prepared before installation. A high-quality polymer-modified thinset mortar is then applied to the substrate and back-buttered onto each tile. Tiles are set in place and gently tapped with a rubber mallet to ensure proper adhesion and a flat surface. Use a level to ensure flatness. After the tiles have set, the floor is sealed, then grouted. Once grouting is complete, the installation is finished.
